Will the car dealership program my car remote that I purchase online?
This would depend on the individual car dealership. They may or may not accept a remote from an outside source such as eBay or Amazon. Chances are they would not because of time. Quite often the parts you get from online are either not the right match for your vehicle or they don’t quite work the same as the OEM part. For example, often the trunk buttons on the aftermarket remotes do not work.
It is more productive of the technicians time to use one from their own OEM stock rather than trying to figure out why yours is not programing in. If they do accept your remote, you will still have to pay a cut fee, if there is a key involved and also a programming fee. These fees vary from dealer to dealer. Usually dealership hourly labor rates range from $95 - $150 per hour.
Can a Locksmith program my car remote that I bought online?
If you have already purchased your car remote online just bring it in and we are happy to cut and program it for you. Granted, we would prefer to use our on stock just like the dealerships because we know our products and we guarantee them. Often, remotes from the Amazon or eBay are not the correct part number and may not program in.
